A cooperative is an association of people with common interests, economically organized in a democratic way, that is, with the free participation of all and respecting the rights and duties of each of its members, to whom it provides services, without profit.
The Cooperative Societies are regulated by As Sociedades Cooperativas estão reguladas pela Brazilian Law 5.764, of December 16, 1971, which defined the National Cooperativism Policy and instituted the legal system for Cooperatives.
